10 Concept Artists Who Should Be Making Their Own Movies
« on: June 08, 2015, 07:31:35 AM »
I've just started to collect source images for a new project inspired, in part, on the illustrations of Simon Stålenhag.

While searching for images of his work, I found this article '10 Concept Artists Who Should Be Making Their Own Movies':
http://io9.com/10-concept-artists-who-should-be-working-on-their-own-m-1530717946

There should be enough there to inspire you or at least put a smile on your face.

I'm pretty sure I follow all of those artists in one way or another. (Fb or DA) I'll say tough that I usually make a point of avoiding this kind of "10 things etc" list articles, they are maybe one step above "you wont believe what happens next" titled click bait. Internet is killing journalism, back in my day... etc. etc.

Dr - I think you got me onto Simon's work about a year ago. Nexus Miniatures' S.D.Z.A. is finally getting me the kick I need to get this project started.

And YPU I was Google image-searching Simon's work when I found the one with the owls and took look at the article it was connected to. I treat these web articles as forum posts; sometimes useful information ;)

I don't know, is that really better than Rik Mayall smashing walls with his head?

Someone should do a series of minis based on his characters and their pets/animal companions.  Olga + Changa for me!

The images you linked are art for the boardgame scythe, and those characters with their pets are in fact models used to represent faction leaders. probably not in any usual scale, but still.
