I realised last week that BLAM is only 3 and a bit months away and I have not started on my BLAM board...

so I thought I had better start...

The build focuses on a Docks in the 1930's - suitable for Pulp, VBCW etc.. The scenario is yet to be decided.

You can follow all the  on this thread with links to the blog.

Damn, a long time ago on LAF someone linked a beautiful railway modeller's 1930's layout which included a dirty colliery port with a ship (and dockyard graffiti that even read "Moseley for PM") which I figured would have all sorts of ideas for this project, but I'm buggered if I can find it.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Should be a fun one for BLAM, looking forward to seeing how it progresses. :)

Already looking good.

Some years ago I worked in a naval museum. Where one old sailor told the story of how in the 60's all bars/brothels on the harbour front in Singapore closed down if more than two Maersk ships were in port. Because of the trouble the sailors got into when drinking. But one time the sailors pooled their money and bought an entire bar/brothel. They then spend two days drinking everything in the bar and then torching the place before setting back out to sea.

I have always thought there might be a game somewhere in that story.

Great start there! Any 30ties project always has my attention, as I still have mine on the back burner, and I can always do with more inspiration.

Is the lighthouse one of those ceramic Christmas village things? I have a windmill made of the same stuff and I'm afraid of cutting it, even with a Dremel, expecting it to simply shatter...  ::)

I am pretty sure that it is this:

I have that one bookmarked just in case I expand my own docks at some point.
