Hello and thanks,
Garry : my bases are 12 cm/5 ps  (front) and 8 cm /3 ps for the depth (cavalry and warbands).
I play Impetus rules and Hail Caesar (with a reduced front).

Great stuff. Do Goths have a more eastern flavour than other Germanic tribes?

Hello and thanks,

AdamPHayes : Yes, Goth have a more eastern flavor like other tribes (Herul, Vandal, Gepids...).
They were a large tribe, but when Huns invaded their territory, they migrated and installed on the Roman Territory (battle of Adrinople 378 AD).

Nicco,

I'm really loving this thread and your work  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

It's great to see some of those old Foundry Saxon/Franks mini's painted up and they certainly suite the Gothic ethos.

I painted some up quite a few years ago now to Wargames Standard and sold them. Here's a link to the unit (now sold BTW):

Just out of interest, what rules system did you have in mind when basing the mini's? I'm guessing Impetus, To the Strongest and Hail Caesar?

All is beautiful work, well done
The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Hello and thanks,

Atheling : Your old Foundry Saxon/Franks miniatures are superb !!  :-*

I use Impetus and Hail Caesar (with a reduced front, the same for Impetus).

I use two bases 6 cm X 8 cm (2,5 ps x 3 ps).

In Impetus, warbands may be a "large" unit (in fact two units one behind the other) : I prefer one unit.

Thank you- I've switched the pics to a link on the advice of the Mod. so it won't interfere with your gallery thread in any way.

Thanks Nicco- it's always interesting (and useful!) to see what rules folk have based their armies for- yours look great and I'd love to be playing on the same table as them!

Darrell.
