Paint Carrousel prices?
« on: 21 October 2008, 01:59:06 PM »
How much should I be prepared/willing to spend on a paint carrousel organizer?

And is there a European vendor available?  ???
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Don't use a carousel myself but I'm pretty sure this UK store ships to Europe.

Personally I prefer Lurch's contraptions and I will order one once we 've moved house. (Going to get me my own gaming attic!)

Thanks... but how come they are so expensive over here..??

Noble Knight Games list normal retail as $40... that makes £44.25 about twice as expensive in GB/Europe...

I've been pondering about Lurch's model, too, but space is an issue... well, maybe I should ponder a bit more on this...

I got mine form here, but it is the same price as the one linked to by Orctrader, and they also ship to Europe.

I should say, though, that I use mine for storing paint which I'm not currently using, but then I don't have a fixed space I paint in, but rather I use a GW paintstation which is kept up high (well away from little fingers) and only brought down once those little fingers are safely in bed.

It was indeed, until the dastardly Prussian Herr E. On destroyed them with a case load of dynamite, recently :)

How did you make your make your own carousel?

My local miniature shop has some of them in stock.
I will be there next week anyway, so I could take a look at how much they would be. I may well be that they are discounted, because they sit in the same shelf for quite some time now.
I could buy them for You and send them over.
Postage from Germany to Denmark should not be too expensive, so perhaps it might be worth a try.

vikotnik, that would be nice.

Just got an answer from Noble Knight Games that they do ship to Europe, but postage for one would be $42 (still cheaper than buying it in Europe, BEFORE P&P is added, though). But then there's the risk of getting burned by customs...  :-I

I had one of the Vatican Enterprises carosels for several years. It held up well, but was not the most efficient in terms of time (the bottle I needed was always on the other side) and space. When my son started walking I traded it in for a closing case from Silicon Dragons http://minipaints.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=2&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=168&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=2.

Although my case has some problems, he acknowledged them up front and gave it to me for free (now THAT is good customer service!). I find the arrangement much easier to use and it takes up less storage space in addition to being very portable.

Those are for droppers only, right? I can see the purpose of such a case, especially if you put your paints aside between sessions, but space would prohibit my use of it (and I could get 2 80-pot carrousels for the same price).

I purchased 2 of the Paintier 80's from VVV and find them very useful as they do not take up a lot of space. I store all my Foundry paints on them. I also have 2 of the 80 dripper bottle stands from Lurch which are excellent BUT I should have bought the 100 bottle models with my ever increasing paint pile.

(and I could get 2 80-pot carrousels for the same price).

Since I use mine for storage, I actually have closer to 160 pots of paint, of all sizes, on my carousel.  Because once you've filled the outer circle on one level, that forms a nice wall for some more paints to be stored behind - and since the inner row of paints are a little higher on my Painter 80 (as the outer holes for paints are recessed a little) you can still see what colour the inner paint pots are.

Sorry, that is probably of no interest to anyone else - except to say that I use my painter80 for more than 80 paints.

I'll stop rambling now, and go back to work!

Does VVV have a website?
