Well, although tape is a good start, I will need something a bit more rigid ;) I usually use drywall plaster for these types of things, but it is just too fragile to be good enough for such a large tree. So I decided to go with some hobby-grade plaster cast material. It is very good. I haven't posted any pics of the entire plastered tree, but you can see a branch in the first picture in the gallery.
