Could be a nice addition.

While we are at it, they have also started selling plastic lances and spears and so on.

I like fireforge's stuff, even if it is expensive. And this could shape up to be just as great.

I have always thought they have a fantasy vibe to the poses. Perhaps that is the reason for moving to resin which is more familiar to fantasy collectors. Takes it right out of contention for me as I lose out on the main advantage of plastics; ease of conversion.  :-[

Yeah, I have a pretty sizeable Fireforge force, and have been enjoying mixing them with various other plastics for a bit of variation. A bit disappointed that these will be resin.

Sums up my feelings pretty much.

I think Fireforge have improved with each release, although the styling definitely tends towards the GW / fantasy look, especially the ridiculously outsized weapons in the earlier sets.

But I do like quite a lot about them, and they provide great conversion fodder. So slightly baffling as to why these are being done in resin... I would have thought a generic medieval archer set in plastic would have been a surefire winner...

They did with their Mongol heavy cavalry...

Just my thoughts. I am pleased though as my lead and plastic mountain has yet to be flattened a bit before I buy new stuff.

I believe the development cost of plastics is in the tens of thousands, whereas resin figures it's more "just" thousands. It's a cost issue for them. Maybe they don't have tens of thousands lying around?

Indeed- the drawings look great but I would be a tad worried about the bows being a little fragile.

Maybe they will do the bows in metal and the rest of the archers bodies in resin?

Or maybe they don't think will sell in the same volumes, and thus risk not covering the cost of HIPS sprues fast enough.

Either way, I did think that going the resin route seemed backwards compared to what the main thrust of their earlier model range was made in...  :?

Is it? I'd say that most fantasy armies (read: mostly WHFB) are plastic. Although I could imagine resin would be even less common in historical circles...

Also, it would seem that a generic medieval set of plastic archers would sell like crazy. Especially now that GW's Bretonnians are no more since Age of Sigmar.

Too bad; I'd probably have bought the plastic archers...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
