The cloak is OK, but WTF is he holding in his (huge) hand? A salami??

I think its a cigar.  The figure is okay, but probably would have preferred a more non-heroic version.  Probably better off looking for a generic guy in a trenchcoat.

seconded, non-heroic would be better, without all the cliche equipment

Thirded.

Constantine was not about over-the-top action. He was a subtle, behind the scenes manipulator. If you have ever read the run where he gets his lung cancer cured by the demons of Hell, it's classic!

I know it's supposed to be a cigar, but it looks very strange.

Managed to get two more done, Magneto and the Beast.  Painted pretty quickly, and ended up a bit messy.  I tried to make the beast's fur look furry and it ended up looking even more messy....  oh well.  Still, its ok enough for me to move on...

Have to say FG, your "sloppy" paint jobs are better than mine when I spend a month working on them.

The beast could use one more highlight on the belt, despite that, cool figures and cool paint jobs!

thanks!

I agree I should have added another layer of highlight on the beast.  I used the same paints as on cyclop's suit but neglected the last highlight.   :?   Too late now, as it on the varnishing train now.

Great job, especially on Magneto.

I see your painted stuff from time to time around the 'net....Always a big fan of it!

So, when you do a Heroclix makeover...do you strip it first?  If so, in what?

thanks Supes!

When I repaint them, I just prime it and paint right over the factory paint.  So far I have been choosing those that survived the factory painting more or less with most of the detail intact.  These tend to be either mostly mono-chromatic or ones where the sculpting has lots of deep detail that didn't get obscured.

Unfortunately one of the thickest paints they use is the one for flesh, and any bright and light colour, such as yellow.  I'm sure its to make it more opaque so as to cover the underlying colour.

At some point I will have to try stripping some of them.  The Jean Grey/marvel girl one is terrible, the face is almost smooth.  I have heard that accetone works but you have to be careful not to leave it too long or it will attack the plastic.  And after you give it a good wash, it will still be a bit soft and you have to air it for a while for the trace bits to evaporate off and for the plastic to harden first.  Best test it on one you don't mind losing first....

My favourites are the ones made of clear plastic, no need to paint at all!  Such as the Iceman and the new Human Torch.  Cools!

Wow, your super heros are very cool.  :o

I think I have to change my mind, buy some indy HeroClix figures and repaint them, to put them on the shelves near my comic book collection. :D
