A pirate treasure hunt
« on: August 07, 2015, 10:28:42 AM »
We played this game last night to try out the 'Flashing Steel' rules from Ganesha games. I wanted to keep things fairly simple, so both players had a 10 man pirate band, with 1 captain (Quality 3, Combat 4, Hero, Leader, Pistol), 1 1st mate (Q 4, C 4, 2inC, Lucky Tattoo, Pistol), and 8 pirates (one in each party had an animal - a parrot and amonkey, and one in each party had a peg leg. Two in each party had muskets.

The scenario was a treasure hunt - treasure tokens of varying value were scattered around. Digging for them took two actions.
Both parties by searching for the treasure ont he island, then crossed to the mainland where drums were heard fromt he native village. The left hand party approached the village to see irate spear armed Carib Indians approaching. Meanwhile the other player investigated the idol and the ruins beyond, and found more Indians there.

A good fun game, and a good way to learn the rules. Next time we'll try something with hidden objectives and more scope for players fighting each other.
