Played our first game today. We had a larger table setup, with buildings and such with three major roadways (a setup put in place for another game). We did a few things wrong, but this was a first go so we could stumble and learn.
Skeletor (my Necromancer) led his band of bumbling buffoons to four treasure tokens. One other player walked out with three, and the other two players had 1-2 each when they withdrew. Standard scenario was used.
The die gods were capricious and some players fared very well, others had knights falling to imps...
Personally, Skeletors shot with Bone Dart threw down a serious 11pt wound to our hosts Sigilist. The retaliatory Grenade spell managed to wound only a thug. I did not think that bone dart would be so effective, but it was a thing to be feared going forward. Other players did not fare so well. I don't believe the Illusionist was ever able to get a spell off, besides Fools Gold. His warband took a beating and will likely be retired.
My big strategy going in to this was to make a maneuver support element - archer/crossbowmen/apothecary/apprentice. They were intended to lay down fire at anyone who got too close to my thief (who solo'd). I'm thinking I will add a marksman to that group, and push the apothecary to the main maneuver element. That Grenade had me worried.
I ended up walking away with 2 grimoires (El. Shield/El. Hammer) and two magic weapons/armor. Can't wait for round two!
