I'm in for any reasonable scale but I'd prefer normal 28mm. Like Kamandi, I've got Heritage, Paroom, and Bronze Age figures.

Deffinately 28mm. I also have a bunch of Heritage & Paroom Station, even have a few old Hinchcliffe figures.

Normal 28mm, please.

BTW, the ERB estate did register trademarks in the USA for John Carter decade after decade. Not sure how well those trademarks would stand up to a legal challenge given the lack of commercial activity using those trademarks for extremely long periods of time. However, nobody is going to pay the big $$$ to challenge them because John Carter is such an obscure topic. There's plenty of other "sword and planet" stuff that can be produced and used in cross-over John Carter genre scenarios. Otis Adelbert Kline stuff? Gor anyone? Heck, I even drew 8 legged riding beasts when I was a kid. Anybody could make up their own "dying planet" genre.

Me too. I have resisted other manufacturers so far as I don't like the larger scales or the miniatures. I would prefer 15mm. I would buy 20mm. After that unlikely.

Gor anyone?
Given the general success of "iconic" female miniatures, probably quite-a-few-one(s) lol

That said, some of might balk at slavery/domination imagery inherent in the setting but looking at Brother Vinni's stuff for example, hardly all.

As to the original subject, I might consider getting into JC miniatures if they were "true 28mm" scale (so clearly smaller than 4X Dystopian Legions) and done in "realistic" style. But probably wouldn't. Some beasties or weird flora might be usable (I can't recall if there was much mention of flora in Barsoom novels tho).

No concepts yet, we'll be doing a lot of research first :-)

You mean it's not done yet?

May I ask, what kind of research you are making, or to put it the other way round: in how far will researched John Carter miniatures be different from the comic/disney/cover-paintint-approach?

I'm fine if no "Official John Carter Miniatures" ever come out. I'd rather see all copyrights and trademarks lapse for this particular work of ERB. We miniatures people can get by on generic "sword and planet" stuff, and give it our own individual VSF twists.

warrenbruhn, I totally agree with you! We already have great barsoomian minis with the TinMan and Bronze Age lines; don't have to wait for a supposedly "official" line to be "researched" for what... over 2 years?  lol
