Fireforge Commission (update Oct 16)
« on: 26 August 2015, 02:02:50 AM »
I've started work on a Foreforge commission and thought I start a log of the progress.  The first part of the project will be 6 Mounted Sergeants with crossbows.

An update today, I normally like to paint 4 figures at a time but decided to start with two to make sure I still have the paint scheme down. I will do the bases when I've completed the first 6 cavalry figures.

I started with a mixture of black and dryad bark (GW paint) for the base coat.  Straight dryad bark for the mid-tone, and highlighted with dryad bark and beasty brown (Vallejo).  The dark colored mane and nose is black, highlighted with dark grey from Vallejo.  The light colored mane is beasty brown, ink washed with brown ink, then beasty brown, and highlighted with beasty brown and a bone color.  The flesh colored nose is how I paint all flesh, Vallejo red leather, dwarf skin, and highlighted with elf flesh. Hope that helps.
