Frostgrave Mo! style...
« on: 26 August 2015, 10:45:12 PM »
I loved Frostgrave from the first time I read about it.

As usual no real cash to spare at the time of the Nickstarter so was very pleased to find the book cheap after normal release.

I started painting asap. Unfortunately Im slow as hell and its just wips for now:

I also started a little ruin... sort of copied from the lotr ruins of Osgiliath...

Wow, I really like that ruin. Geatvselection of figures too.

@Hitman. The kneeling necromancer is a citadel 80's chaos sorceror.

Hey Mo!, great gathering of old Geedub metals, as mentioned. Are you going for a nurgly look? because the purple and green screams either Nurgle or Decepticon to me ;)

I'm looking forward to your barbarian too, of course. Or is it the guy lurking in the back of the first pic, with nothing on but his undercoat? lol

And that ruin is looking ace. Are you planning on doing more of those, or is this a one-off? I have to echo the question; are you going full  Bibbly on these things, because the extra work certainly pays off!
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Your ruin looks sharp.  The individual "stones" and the natural texture of the cork will make for a very characterful bit of terrain.  You may have based it on the Osgilliath ruin but it looks better; Like the masonry has some weight to it.  I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes then I'll demonstrate how to properly "copy" someone's work :).

Someone was pretty quick to ID the classic Citadel sorcerer so I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me who the model on the far left is?  I'm not sure I'd trust Rasputin and his wine bottles in any warband of mine but he is a characterful model that would probably be fun to paint :).

I may be wrong, but isn't that one of the Mordheim Angry Mob?

Yes on all accounts  :D

The thug is form the mordheim angry mob.
The cork building is only half or maybe even 1/4 of what I intend it to be... if i like it enough Ill build plenty more.

For some reason i keep going back to painting things green/purple the first metal model i painted was like that too  :D
