The table is under construction. So far I have cut out 24 2x2 foot squares of 2 inch thick Dow pink foam.
I built 24 "boxes" out of 1 inch battens (all 4 sidees) with 1/4 inch MDF bases. The MDF was stapled to the bottom of the battens and the Dow foam was lowered into each "box".
Next rivers and roads were planned with each entering and leaving at the same distance from the edge of each board.
I removed the Dow foam from all of the boards that had sunken rivers planned for them. This allowed me to cut into the boxes.
Angled cut were made into the wooden battens to allow the rivers and roads to move freely through each board no matter what configuration.
And that's as far as I am along.
Oh, this will be a North American terrain table, good for F&I War, AWI, ACW and so on.
All of these terrain pieces that you see here will find their way onto the basic terrain squares someday.
