40k on a budget Crimson fists chapter
« on: September 02, 2015, 09:07:36 PM »
Me and a couple of mates are starting to form some 40k armies to play 3rd edition, I've never played 40k but always been a fan of the setting etc.
So, I've decided on doing Crimson fists, I love the color scheme, and the fact they graced the RT rulebook so for these reasons I've started my army, these are the plastic snap fit figures from the black reach set, nothing fancy, cheap but effective! I've not gone to town on these with painting either, I want a quick painted force so I can fight against my opponents Eldar  and orks! I've got a squad of terminators and a captain and also another tactical squad to do, I need more stuff but waiting on getting cheap reinforcements as and when.

Great paintwork.  Nobody said you had to spend Forgeworld money on the game to have fun.  Their starter kits have always been a shockingly good value (such a good value it calls into question their ENTIRE line for the rest of their game).  Well done.  I also love the Crimson Fists colour scheme.  Very cool.

Lovely stuff Andy - beautifully effective painting!

Still thinking about my force - Eldar, Tau or Guard.  The Eldar would be 100% proxies, although I have just won a Wave Serpent caked in paint...

@Elbows - I've always said that many individual 40k boxes are great value, with tons of options for a skirmish force.

Good looking guys!

Funny that i decided to use the crimson fists color scheme too for my first Space Marines ever (only 5 for Skirmish Gaming). An today i saw your thread.

I love this scheme. It is blue (representative for GWs marines), but a lot cooler than the Ultra Marine scheme.
Thank's for showing it.

The bases are nice, too!
