A few more Zulu War British units
« on: 07 September 2015, 05:11:56 AM »
I finished painting most of these earlier this year but didn't get a chance to finish all the bases and post pictures. These were the last of the planned units to complement my Army builder 2014 project.  Hope to get the last few Zulu campaign battles scheduled again in the fall.

Mounted Infantry

A few commanders and offices I have let languish on the side...

Thanks. Your Zulu British line are fantastic figures. A lot of fun to paint.

Beat me to it! I used to teach Zulus - you won't be called a racist for using a more chocolatey skin tone, honestly!

Ah. Left the word "British" out of the title. Oops.  ::)

While I did paint some Natal troopers, I never did paint a Zulu warrior.  I left that hoard to my friend.

Excellent! The Empress figs by Paul Hicks are my favorites and the Anglo Zulu War period! :D

Nice painting.

One thing that bugs me a bit with that NNC plastic set is the lack of blanket-rolls - can't help feeling that Warlord skipped the easy way with them. Well, guess I'll have to pull out the GS and give it a try if I decide to get them at some point...

Thanks for the kind words.

I figure most melee troops running into battle drop what they can pick up later if they don't need it to fight. Overall I liked the plastics.
