The Death of the Butcher
« on: 07 September 2015, 12:17:33 PM »
New York Bop rules played out today using Gangs of New York as proxies. The battle resulted in Bill the Butcher and Priest Vallon going toe to toe with the Butcher having to withdraw to lick his wounds. Despite withdrawning he was soon set upon by some by gang of Dead Rabbits looking to become famous and it wasn't long until the Butcher was lying under the knives.

You can also see prototypes of the gaming aides. Great fun and enjoyed by a first time player.

Lovely looking game and miniatures but, for me, your photos are spoilt by all the coloured markers. I liked the Knuckle dusters though.

Fantastic visual spectacle.

They really had some wild trouser patterns going on in those days, didn't they?

Must have been difficult to paint but you have nailed them.

My focus is to get the buildings painted, finish off the docks and get some scatter terrain for the table.

Lovely figures and terrain, it's nice to see cobble streets grunged up a bit.  I kind of agree with Rob about the colourful markers detracting from the look but if the rules call for it then that's the way it's got to be.  They are after all nice markers and I like the way they wrap around the circular bases.

Perhaps you can paint the markers so that the blend in with your scenery a little bit better.

If i ever did a Gang of NY version of the rules id prob look for something different as i don't think it fits in with the feel to the game. They are designed for the 70's rule set, the also don't need to be place on the table. They can easily be marked on the character cards.

I have nearly finished painting the second board and have also finished the Monument that stood in the middle of Paradise square in the movie. Buildings have been getting painted too and i hope to get some pictures this weekend when i have another game.

Love the board, and your painting is excellent! My own NY Bop board has stalled, sitting sadly in the garage... :'(
