I'm trying not to use same bodies so each one is differently clothed although the poses may look similar. My black skaven are made from the plastic storm vermin kits, I've converted an Eshin sorcerer from the clanrat kit and my assassin adept is made using a spare warlord from the Island of Blood starter box.

Sounds like a good plan! I look froward to seeing your progress with them. :)

No sorcerer painted yet, though he's next in line along with the warlord, I think you guys would like to see something other than clan rats.

And on that note, here's another of the sneaky stabby verminkin. Yesterday I made the decision to base ALL of my skaven, new and old on round bases as I much prefer the look and will no doubt play more skirmish games than I ever will play a big WFB game. Luckily none are painted, well not recently anyway, so it's not going to cause much upheaval.

Resurrecting an old thread I've returned to briefly.

I had been playing a lot of the Mordheim ps4 game last month. One of my warband members, a night runner names Stirk Half-Ear suffered injuries nearly every game. He had so many blows to the head he'd never run from combat, lost his right eye then lost his left arm. He still managed to be MVP every game without fail dealing damage with his club. Sadly he lost his other eye and had to be retired. Being skaven, I imagine the rest of the warband ate well that night.

So in Stirk's honour, I converted a mini to represent him.

Nicely done and a fitting tribute.

Wonderful project Gut.  I'm in the process of assembling and painting a Mordheim dwarf band so I'm happy to see other people still considering it!  (granted my dwarfs are mostly non-GW at the moment...).  You've got some wonderful paintwork going on here.

Alas, poor Stirk.

Love the models.

Mordheim is still one of my group's favorites.

Great skaven, I'm not keen on the actual rat ogre model, but the painting is spot on

Rather liking the 'new' Skaven aesthetic, I've been wondering if the clanrat box (without moulded-on shields) would make for good double hand weapon figures for Mordheim - looks like that question has been answered! Some great figures in this thread, would love to see more of them.

Perhaps the new Bloodbowl Skaven might be a nice basis for character conversions...

Thanks for the kind words folks.

I've found the boxset surprisingly versatile considering they're all basically in the same pose. My sorcerer I've managed to convert from the set too with the addition of some beastman horns and he's wielding a two handed flail. I did have a skaven adept converted from the island of blood skaven warlord but my boxset of blood bowl skaven have me thinking I'll use the gutter runner instead, dual wielding weeping blades.

Great thread!
I played Mordheim when it was first released. I had a Skaven warband that did very well at our local hobbyshop campaign.  After becoming a bit too powerful, I retired it.  Skaven are alot of fun.  The morale isnt so good, the whole band ran off at the first set back.
Thanks for posting.
