Nic-e's 15mm scratchbuilding. new figure sculpts and tanks.
« on: 11 September 2015, 06:18:44 PM »
I have a bunch of 1/100 (15mm) figures I use for installation maquettes, and so I made them these hover tanks from old phone chargers.
I think they look a little bit 40k meets studio ghibli.

Cheers chaps.

A couple of questions for anyone willing to answer,
1: how does a game of (soft) post apocalyptic nomads sound? (imagine blade runner meets studio ghibli in terms of style)

And 2:If i were to cast up some of these and sell them as cheap chunky 15mm vehicles, would there be any interest ?

For your questions...

1) I'd certainly be interested in seeing that. Anything 'Ghiblipunk' gets my vote  :)

2) Asking the wrong person here but I would assume there would be some interest.

cheers

If i could afford genuine preiser figures i wouldn't be stealing peoples plugs, these are the cheap amazon recasts.  ;)

Also figured i'd post a closer shot of this little hover caravan, since i like the turret and just find it quite retro and funky . Sadly the photos have made it very shiny ,but it looks better in real life (honest gov!)

I imagine the green one as a genuine military vehicle that has been wondering around for decades, whereas the others are more mobile bunkers/anti grav caravans pressed into service as homes and tanks.

Cheers! :)

These tanks are fantastic. Recycling old mobile phone chargers for that purpose is really inventive.

Anything with a Studio Ghibli vibe gets all my attention!

Yeah - these are really cute, and a whole world set with these would be lovely.

Great to hear that you'd all be interested in seeing more.

My brother in law dropped an old iphone charger round today. It's a nice back heavy shape and i'm thinking of adding a mast and some bunting to it ,maybe a serving window and making it into a travelling tea house.

After that i'm gonna see what i can do with a couple of sets of 1/72 tank tracks and some plastic cubes. I'm thinking mobile farm!

Started a new tank from an old apple charger. decided i wanted to add some ship like elements on this one ,i'm probably gonna add some bunting ,maybe a pirate flag and a bit of freehand to the side.

I'm not too sure what i want to do colour wise with it, i'm thinking chipped white paint and a bunch of rust, but since i'm back at uni soon it may take a while. I'm gonna be doing more of this......

......and a bit less of the cool stuff for a while.
