Langton 18-gun Brig - Napoleonic Naval
« on: 25 September 2015, 02:38:20 PM »

The model is a Langton Miniatures unrated vessel. 18-gun Brig. Probably will see service against the US Navy models I've still to construct, for the War of 1812.

Great job! Those Langton models look fantastic, but I could never paint and rig them like this!

Same, I was happy just to paint them. Very nice work.

Thank you both.

In truth, working on rigging Navwar ACW models allowed me to practice my version of the rigging technique. I don't go for the full version (I can manage to achieve about 50% of the rigging that is capable of being depicted). A lot of what I do is simply glued in place with superglue and then painted with GW black paint over the top to remove the shine. Tweezers and small scissors being my best friends.

Impressive.
North Yorkshire is a big county - do you ever sail any of your ships near Scarborough?

Top-end of North Yorkshire, at Catterick Garrison.
I'm just painting naval stuff at the moment. I've only previously played ACW naval with Smoke on the Water rules, using Peter Pig 1/600
