Anyone have any good guides to painting ships?

I have some ships I want to paint but I have no idea how to start painting them. Does anyone have any recomendations, Guides or tutorials?

Its a Japanese Bune and a Korean Panokseon.

Both wooden ships.

My advice would be to avoid brown. We humans seem to automatically imagine wood as being brown. It's usually many hues of grey.

As for painting particular whips for Japan etc.... I haven't got a clue!

I never considered using greys instead of browns.

Yeah Rumacara seeing that movie is what made me buy the ships.
