I've seen lots of pictures of painted guns on line and thought that this could be something people in the future might do more of.
It's meant to be characterful and have them stand out as a sci-fantasy setting, rather than always have black/camo/bare metal. I don't do this for the judges, as they have standardized equipment and are a professional organization, nor for miniatures that have crossover potential -- so they can fit into different settings.
I have going on a hundred painted miniatures for this, I think. Hundreds more waiting to be done.
I got a little over enthusiastic and now it is too late to turn back! So I keep buying more and friends who started similar projects and gave up have donated their collections to me. It's becoming a lifetime project.
I just picked up Pulp Alley rules to see how I can fit Dredd into them. I have the Mongoose Dredd rules and they look good and fun, but Pulp Alley is focused on telling action-adventure stories and that goes in line more with what I think of Dredd.
I keep telling myself I need to start on terrain.
