Black and Tans update 22/05/16
« on: 18 October 2015, 05:01:43 PM »
Part of the Royal Irish Constabulary Reserve Force, the B&T's have a bit of a ropey reputation to say the least, having been formed to support the RIC in their fight against the IRA. Formed mostly from ex soldiers they had a habit of taking their frustrations at losing any of their men out on the Irish populace and their belongings, hearts and minds not being a top priority for them during these troubled times in Ireland.
This thread is going to cover the painting of a 36 figure force for Chain of Command along with several soft skin vehicles, the figures are from Footsore Miniatures and I apologise in advance for the crappy photography.
Here's the first twelve.

Although this may come as odd coming from an Irishman, i'd say their rep was somewhat unfair, it's been suspected that much of their bad reputation came from the Auxiliary Division of the Royal Irish Constabulary which lacked the professionalism but they shared equipment with or in some cases just regular constabulary, to IRA fighters on the ground all three were interchangeable.

Looking good nonetheless.

Pretty cool, do you have the list for playing the Irish war of independents and the civil war? Or is that on the too fat lardies site?
