After reading a lot of enthusiastic reviews (or hype as I originally thought) I eventually took the plunge and ordered the pdf. Some sole games later I was hooked! My impression was so positive that I surprised some of my buddies by forcing them into a foursome game (I should have photographed their faces when they saw Normandy was switched to some fantasy ice city full of yetis and giant snow owls:priceless👹)
Well after converting the pals (one had some slight issues with the d20 which has since been settled with several hypnosis sessions and the promise of alcohol 👹)

Since that success I introduced my 8 , 6 and 5 year olds to Frostgrave (to the raised eyebrows of my lovely wife who thought the title seemed to suggest something inappropriate for their age, how silly 😏. Well to my surprise they have taken to it in a major way. They love it. My 5 year old boy seems to be a tactical genius (I kid you not) while the older girls are demanding more female members for their war bands.

I'm just amazed (and quite frankly shocked at the universal appeal of this superb game.

I'm tempted to add a few more childish friendly elements like a unicorn that moves about randomly but rewards the wizard or apprentice with healing or some kind of power bonus (aka staff of power) Any suggestions that could give the younger players something to occupy them?

Mind you I reckon some of my pals would probably enjoy chasing Unicorns too

Nice idea! Might be good reason to take that Reaper unicorn from the box :)

Thunderbolt Mountain's Ballerina Fairy Princess
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Oh my word; the two ladies would go Lopo if I get that bunch (they just started ballet this year and they're both obsessed with fairies....well they are 6 - 8 year old girls😏

Reaper is the one I have too...ill post pics when I'm back home (the Rainbow scheme was chosen by the two ladies so he's got a rainbow tail and mane (yes ...I'm not sure if you can consider me a man any longer...it's sad 🌈

Oh, yes. The best kind of man - a father making his girls happy.  You never know which memories will stick with them and become one of those "fond memories" in the future, so make as many memories as you can, especially the silly memories.

Thunderbolt Mountain's Ballerina Fairy Princess

These are outstanding. Nothing would make me happier than throwing down something so epic as my war band. Fairy dust all around.

Being a man is over rated in my opinion. It usually leads to random acts of stupidity. Now being a dad, that's one hell of a fine thing to aspire to and it sounds like you are doing quite well in that department. Well done sir.

If you want to add more female minis you should take a look at Annie the Dice Bag Lady's website http://thedicebaglady.net/female-miniatures/
Look especially at two particular female magic users that may be of interest to your girls if they're anything like my daughter who has chosen them to lead her frozen themed warband https://tyrionhalfmanblog.wordpress.com/2015/09/28/frozen-frostgrave/

I like the idea of random encounters that do you good to bump into unlike the usual ones that will see your warbands as dinner. Thanks for sharing

Another idea to make it more appealing to kids (and some adults too) is edible treasure ie chocolate coins

Thunderbolt Mountain's Ballerina Fairy Princess
I've thought of buying this but don't need six, if anyone buys a set but doesn't need all of them I would buy one or two.

Also take a look at Northumberland Tin Soldier, they have some very storybook style figures.
