First Otherworld figures painted
« on: October 22, 2015, 02:43:56 PM »
I've become increasingly obsessed with Otherworld's superb miniatures, and have now got hold of the rules for their fantasy skirmish game. Here are the first ones I've painted, a trio of pig-faced orcs. They turned out a bit greener than I planned, so I might tone them down slightly, but I think it gives them a nice larger than life feel as well.

I say well done. I feel the same about Otherworld & have given them a bunch of my $ over the last year. Just when I think I'm done, I find another bunch that I start pining for (currently it is cultist & the new demon statues). Sigh.. never ends. :D

Skintones are just a matter of preference, anyway. They're well-painted figures and I like them.

I love seeing other people's dungeon crawl type projects seeing as I can't really get into that genre myself at the moment (too many projects). So, keep them coming!

Those are nicely painted figures. There's something appealing about the green! I'd be tempted not to darken it too much actually. I've never bought any Otherworld because I haven't gamed fantasy for over ten years but if I did, Otherworld would be high on my list. I love the nostalgia many of the figures evoke.

Now you tell us! Oh well, still eagerly anticipating the arrival of my first order!

Now that I think about it, it might be a good excuse for a second order!  ;)

Curious...is there a current Otherworld distributor stateside?  I know the old website that carried them stopped doing so (Architects of War I believe).  I'd own a lot more Otherworld minis, but they're already at the upper end of cost, and I can't normally stomach additional shipping.

Among the first Fantasy figures I painted were the old Minifigs Pig Faced Orcs. That's still the way I imagine them to look, although the possible appearance of a 1/2 Orc  is a truly horrifying prospect. All that aside, you did an OUTSTANDING job on the Green Guys...VERY WELL DONE!

Elbows, I think Noble Knight Games has quite a good selection, though they seem to be perpetually out of some codes. They offer superb service, so if you see something you like you can order with confidence. Hope this helps a little.
