Thanks chaps.
Just to confirm the vehicles are all from Warlords Bolt Action range. I have a few more on the bench being done although have got side tracked back to a Vietnam village kinda based on the coastal one in Apocalypse Now. No helicopters though

The figures are from Empress Jazz Age range. Mainly the Rolls Royce crew with some different heads from FNG's range. There is one tank commander in a Chaffee that comes with the vehicle.
Paint technique used is the basic colour which is from a Humbrol spray can. Then washed with Plastic Soldier Company washes that you can then let dry and then go back at any time and dilute with water. Let the colour flow around, its great fun. Paint chips are the usual method of lighter green in patches and then on relevant parts where wear and tear is most dark 'panzer' grey. Lastly using Mig powder colours, with the fastener, wash these on and again play with them. Let them wash into the crevices and gaps.
This does sound very complicated but its actually very easy. The trick, as always, is to get the right materials. Ebay is a good place or go directly to source as with the PSC.
For reference Google larger scale models as some of the work done with bigger scale kits as one of pieces is very inspirational.
Hope that helps?
I will do a ' how to build' on the village when is is finished

(I also want it for an Ultra Modern project with PLA island warfare. That will have helicopters

)
Cheers,
Paul
