Pulpy robot
« on: October 25, 2015, 03:21:54 PM »
I've had a lot of work as of recently and didn't manage to touch a paintbrush or a sculpting tool over the last month. Today I decided to take some hobby time out and finished a miniature I started a while ago.

It was severely miscast. The robot was missing a hand and his left foot; the other hand wasn't in a much better shape. The girl had no left hand and both her feet very seriously crippled. Thus I had to resculpt these. On a more positive note, this made me fully appreciate the unbelievable quality of the miniature. I didn't like the custom base it came with and scratchbuilt another one.

Anyway, here it is:

Thanks for the nice feedback.

The girl is ~30mm to the eyes and the robot ~42mm (to its single eye). Thus, I'd say it qualifies as a modern (smallish) 28mm miniature, in particular given the slender proportions.

It's a limited edition studio McVey sculpt. They are expensive but amazingly detailed, crisp and superbly cast (except this one that apparently made it through all the quality controls!). Their service is excellent and I have no doubt they would have replaced it if I had complained.
