Liberty or Death!
« on: 04 November 2015, 12:03:22 AM »
The announced Warlord Liberty and Death AWI box

reminded me of all the WGF AWI figures I've accumulated over the last year or so.
Apart from a few testers I haven't really done anything with them yet but this is now -hopefully  ;) - going to change..
Anyway, here some newly painted and some older test figures:

I know the minis are not flawlessly sculpted and historically not as accurate as others...but I still like them  8)
Plus they paint up so quickly..

Cheers

The best of the WG/WHF AWI range so far I dare say:

Can be built as Grenadiers, Fusiliers or Musketeers and you get Jägers on top.  8-)

Also without the canteen slings but otherwise brilliant!

Jäger:

I know the uniform isn't quite so accurate but that's a price I'm willing to pay to have this amount of options within one box.

Andy, why isn't the Jager uniform historically accurate?

Great painting, suits the figures very well.
There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today...turn two points to port.

Thanks for your comments chaps!

@Arthur

The iconic belly box rather than the normal arrangement for the cartridge box would have been more accurate I think and powder horn for the fine grain black powder would have been great..but as I said, I'm more than happy to compromise for the sake of having all options in one box!

yes I see what you mean. well perhaps you could use a few from the native American box? (as in powder horns)

...great minds think alike!!

Thankfully the noble savages have more powder horns than they need 8)
I also re-painted the cross belt brown for more Jäger-feeling:

But then again I've got only one box of Indians and three boxes of Hessians..doh!
