What is Happening with Bolt Action Miniatures (BAM)
« on: November 26, 2008, 09:11:23 PM »
Hi Folks,

For those who are with the BAM Yahoo Group or just in the know I've seen coded messages about a sale that could see ownership change hands with the lovely hard working folks at BAM.

Does that mean if it's true:

A. We may never see their products again?

B. How long between handover may we see their products?

C. What does that mean for the designers at BAM?

Comments, questions please!

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

I understand that all will be revealed after this weekend. It seems pretty good news to me, even thought I promised Simon I wouldn't repeat it... :-)

Thanks Mike, I'm sure there are a number of folks with incomplete collections that would like to finish these at some point in the future without fears of disappointment.

Does that mean if it's true:

A. We may never see their products again? They will still be available

B. How long between handover may we see their products? There shouldn't be any disruption.

C. What does that mean for the designers at BAM? Same designers.

I am also under oath not to talk about this ;-)

Good news. I love their vehicle kits and wouldn't want to see them go away

Helen,

we in Antwerp knew something was/is up but We were assured by Paul himself that it wasn't bad news at all, so I guess we just have to wait and see.

Hi everyone

The change in ownership means that BAM will continue to provide you with some of the best WW2 figures in 28mm. Simon and myself have found the last twelve months very hard with a change of jobs for Simon and the pressure of sculpting for other companies for me to make sure that bills are paid. We could not see that BAM would continue at all if we ran the company anymore.

Hand over will be this weekend and we will be very sorry to see it go indeed. New owners are established in the wargaming world and are BAM collectors as well. They are collecting the moulds also at the weekend and have there own casting facility as well so they will be packing orders straight away. They also want to provide better trade support so you should see more BAM product around the world.

Hope this clears everything up and please do not fear the new owners are insisting that Simon and myself are both very much part of the new regime. I will be sculpting more figures now for BAM as well as new sculptors which is very exciting.

All the best and it is great to see concern from gamers about the future of BAM. It means that you care as much about BAM as both Simon and myself.

Thankyou Paul.

We do appreciate everything that you and your team have created at BAM to produce quality for gamers and collectors.

Now that you have unlocked your ball and chain how about some Chinese for WW2. This suggestion of course is directed for the PacWar range :D

Best regards to you all,

Helen

I'm in the Yahoo Group and have felt quite relaxed about the whole thing.  Not that I actually know anything other than what I have read.

All sounds Fine and Dandy.

Of course, if you would like to have something else to look forward to...I have just finished painting the BAM Gestapo Man from "DE012 - 'guarding the chateau' pack"   ;)  (Pictures after varnishing and Basing.)

So who do I get to stalk now to finish off the SS figures with some AT weapons and mortars?

Just would like to wish Paul and Simon all the best with their new venture.
Glad to hear that both will still be working closely together with the new BAM owners.

I know it must be hard to give up your 'love child' but sometimes tough decisions have to be made.

No matter what happens I'm sure that it is safe to say that we'll all continue to support Paul, Simon and the new BAM crew.

Thank you for all the lovely miniatures you've already created for us, and we're ancious to see with what little gems you'll come up next!

Hi Paul,

You may have missed my message on the "Latest Figures & Support Weapons" thread:
http://www.greatescapegames.co.uk/range.php?range_id=19

Great Escape Games come up with what you are after and designed by Paul Hicks himself. There are some ring ins, but hey!
