 Leave No Man behind

After a failed attemt to assassinate the leader of Army of Messiah Reborn (AMR), Ogwa Akabe, a group of black ops commandos were surrounded and overrun (game test no 4). Read more about AMR here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=83007.msg1021287#msg1021287

One soldier surrendered and was captured alive by the religious fanatics. He is in deep, deep trouble...

Rythmic chanting, beating drums, and extatic screams tear through the humid jungle.

The thick smoke of burning tyres gives the air a toxic scent.

In a clearing in the west african jungle, a macabre scene unfolds. Gathered around a blood soaked altar, illuminated by a roaring fire, a group of rag tag maniacs perform an unspeakable ritual to deities whose unutterabe names are best not mentioned.

Guards with eyes clouded by drug fueled extacy are spread out around the hill.

From whitin a UNICEF container, muffled sounds can be heard in spite of the deafening sound of the horrible mass. Aware of the fact that he is the next sacrifice, corporal Dinerf is struggling with his bonds, but to no avail. His blood freezes when he hears one of the priests calling out for the "lamb" to be brought to the altar.

But eyes are watching the sermon, ice cold eyes trained to crosshairs...

Knowing that the time is now, a special forces team reveals themselves by opening up with the SAW and throwing and shooting grenades into the tightly packed ranks of AMR fanatics.

Multiple blasts causing damage and confusion among the believers.

The survivors takes shelter away from the deadly storm of bullets.

Soon furious fighters come streaming to the defence of the priests.

In the ensung and confused firefight, the americans take their first casualty, the grenadier is hit in the thigh by an ak-47 round. An unfortunate event so soon into the mission!

Two wounded AMR-warriors tries to man the abandoned technical HMG...

but are soundly put to rest...

by the vigilant support gunner.

From a elevated position the black ops marksman takes aim...

and downs one of the priests.

The american team leader urges the group forward and takes up position beneath the marksman.

Maintaining a high rate of fire...

leaving AMR-martyrs strewn over the battlefield.

Surviving fanatics ignore the hail of bullets and make a dash towards the prisoner in the container.

The marksman and team leader realises that the enemies behind the UNHCR container are out of sight, and throws two grenades.

Making short work of the group (and a couple of unfortunate pigs one of the AMR-players insisted should accompany the team), and buying corporal Dinerf a few more moments of life.

But although the soldiers are dropping bodies with their accurate fire

over...

and over again...

firing and advancing towards the prisoner...

The nearby AMR camp is alerted and reinforcements keep pouring in.

Not only new fighters but also pigs have been mustered.

The brave team leader and rifleman are getting real close to the prisoner...

with ample support from the repositioned marksman.

Realising that there seem to be no end to the advancing hordes of fanatics...

Knowing they will soon be overrun, the teamleader orders a desperate charge towards corporal Dinerf and move onwards.

Storming into a wall of lead, they advance into the fray...

and recieves.

and gets some more...

ending the rescue attempt in a most heroic way.

Thank you!

I will get back with a small review of how the rules played out later. The AAR took longer than expected :)

Thank you. I am still working on my rules "Uncivil Wars". Every gametest are making them more balanced and intuitive. It is always a balance between realism and playability. What became apparent during this game test, is the importance of building balanced scenarios. This scenario was not easy for the americans, to put it mildly.

Love the look of the game, great visuals. it's hard to get rules that make everyone happy. In our group,we have two rules LAWYERS,and they can really bog down a game ,asking questions every turn.so good luck!

The last game test actually allowed for a smooth battle without any serious rules discussions. I believe the Uncivil Wars rules are ready to be released whithin a month or two.

Juergen. The rules difficulty is depending on the variety of the weaponry, vehicle and terrain used. A scenario with a bunch of AK-47 vielding militiamen fighting another militia in a forest makes for fast and easy play.

Throw in special forces, tanks and helicopters in an urban setting, more rules comes into play. The best option is to start simple and gradually increase the number of variables.
