VBCW uniforms?
« on: 09 December 2015, 08:37:10 PM »
Would Plastic Soldier Company Soviets be suitable for VBCW I have a lot of them now and would really like to get into interwar. Are the uniforms A. around at the right time as I know they're WW2 miniatures and B is the uniformed look suitable for VBCW as I've mainly seen a more irregular look. Also any ideas for the best factions to use these miniatures as would be fantastic!
Thanks for any help

These figures are soldiers' uniforms of the sample in 1935. But the Red Army was not at that time submachine guns and helmets used by another sample:

About what time period do you mean?

1938 ish for the Very British Civil War was the intended period but that's an interesting  note about helmets I hadn't realised that the ones on the Plastic Soldier Company minis are differnt to the commonly equipped ones of the late 30's
Thanks for the info and any more advice is very welcome
Thanks

Personally I cannot see why you cannot use these figures bar the helmets

In the USSR was adopted helmet model 1936. Since she was recognized as not very successful model - in 1940 it created a new model helmet. In the period you are interested could be used partly Adrian helmet (it remained in use in some military units).

I do not have the PSC Russians but from the photos and from pictures of the PSC Russians I'd say that the uniforms and sidecaps are definitely usable.  Not sure about the helmets as they appear to be the later model so it depends how picky you are.  The sub-machine gunners should be PPD and probably not too many of them.
