Hi All,

Okay I have decided to add a 'flyer' to my collection of VSF equipment.

In keeping with my 'steam driven' feel rather than more advanced technologies my Armoured Aeronautical Conveyance is steam driven with propellers doing all the work  :D ...

Here is a start:

Just need to assemble and paint, I was planning on a game of Longstreet over the New Year may have to give FUBAR VSF another run with including this instead...

Cheers!

Good start - Subscribed!

A tip for good looking engines I've used cut down bolts in the past.
OK they make finned air cooled engines but will do for electric engines or finned cylinders.

That IS nice.
Using washers around the portholes is brilliant.

My, what a big gun you have!  ;D

I always worry they'll off-balance a design, but my list of bad observations, pre-build, is long and honorable.

Just keep the rivet count high! ;->=

Do the washers have a bit of curve? Did you do that?

Always love seeing what people come up with for VSF flyers.
I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys!

Hey Beast! I curved the washers slightly to conform to the front panel (thank you Mr Hammer and the round handle part of my vice  :) )

Here it is assembled and painted, it was all aluminium like a B29 first up but didn't look right so I went with a grey and seeing it complete it reminds me a bit of a boarded up Zeppelin gondola!?! There's a 28mm figure included for reference:

More pictures and a full run down on parts are on my blog:

Now to build a stand!

Cheers!

This is where I thought it was heading. Nice little gnats you've built yourself there.

Looks good, but how about gloss green & red for a colour scheme?
The colours you see on beam engines etc.

Yeah, well, me and VSF Gamer, along with Lucky there, were seeing gondola LONG before paint hit the dingus. ;->=

I knew it wasn't what you had in mind, but also that it could be a fall back position if you were disappointed by the 'copter.  lol

Still say that gun's a honker!  :D
