Reminds me a 90s freeform/LARP event. Hours of politicking in dodgy costumes with an occasional burst of action.

Monsters quite good - just need more of them.

Plus Beowulf looks like Badly Drawn Boy without his hat on. I am hoping for a Bewilderbeast.

I think I lasted about 4 minutes of episode 1. I just couldn't, even though it's filmed just round the corner from my mam & dad's place. Apparently they've got an option on the site for another 5 years or something...

Not even as good as that King Arthur thing a few years back with Eva Green. That was pretty ropey, but you had to keep watching... or was that just me?

Nope, I watched the King Arthur thing too, beginning to end. Terrible, but I kept hoping! At least the Female leads were attractive and willing to do plenty of clothing-compromised scenes...

 Still watching it and noticed a few people in it that i know.

 Not sure if i would call it good tv.One of those programs which you hope will get better.Will it that is the question.

All of the episodes so far have been on my recorder for a while, so I started watching it last night. Hmm, what to say...
I like the CGI for once - the trolls and mud monsters were OK in the long-shots and their movement seemed more realistic than most other recent programmes with CGI monsters.
I couldn't 'feel' for any of the characters other than Hrothgar - they are all easily forgetable. Even Joanne Whalley seemed underwhelming.
The story was very basic but it kept me watchng 'til the end of the episode just so I could find out what happened next.
I will watch them until I get really bored (they are all recorded so far, so can easily delete them if they become totally unwatchable).
I liked the complimentary colours of the not-Rohan household troops (the haircuts leave a lot to be desired though) - they looked quite effective for a fantasy army uniform.
The Golden Halls of Meduseld Heorot was impressive but too golden for my liking

It is nice to see more fantasy tales on TV, I just wish they would not use iconic names and produce stuff that really has nothing to do with the original story or characters.

 The hair do's are not great i have to agree.

 The Golden halls of Herot seem really out of place compared to the rest of the area.They dont even have a stockade or any such defences around the village.
