New Hinterland
« on: 06 January 2016, 06:18:32 AM »
Hi All,

I never know in which forum to provide news of Hinterland Miniatures releases.  While the following miniatures all wear WWI-era uniforms, to list them among other examples of the grim reality that was WWI seems somewhat sacrilegious.  I am sometimes tempted to list them on the Weird Wars board, but I’m not certain that the mere fact that they are females in what are usually male uniforms would satisfy the Weird Wars board moderators.  In my mind, Hinterland Miniatures most fit into the wacky VSF mindset and belong in the VSF Adventures board, although most of the uniforms pictures below strictly came after the Victorian Era.  And so I am at a quandary.  As something of a compromise, I list them here in the Colonial Adventures board, but invite the moderators to move them elsewhere if they see fit.

The year 2015 was something of a razed-earth-salted-fields year for Hinterland, I’m afraid.  But 2016 is already looking better with a trio of new releases, and others at the caster’s.

First up is a new collection of Askari:

Next is the first of several upcoming packs of Schutztruppen:

And finally—something I’ve been wanting to do for some time now—a celebration set, raising a stein to our loyal customers:

See these and other Hinterland fare in the store:

Thanks for your interest, and have a happy New Year.

            Jason

Jason, this is as good a place as any. They're clearly colonial, if not exactly historical. It's not as if there's Orcs and Goblins or anything so I can't think of a better place for them.

That front camel rider really is a lovely dynamic sculpt. Kinda wish you'd do some like that of the other gender, but I know that you're not really into guys at Hinterland.  ;)

2015? Did you go back in time during the holidays? ;)

Seriously, these are really nice figures! I wish I had more "hobby money" :D

My, my, my...

My Oh My..

MINE!!!

Just special, & spectacularly so!!

Great vignettes all. Nuthin' here to pass up.  Dammit.

What lovely...figures...

They're clearly colonial, if not exactly historical. That front camel rider really is a lovely dynamic sculpt.
Kinda wish you'd do some like that of the other gender, but I know that you're not really into guys at Hinterland.

For the which we are all extremely grateful!!

Looking forward to seeing more of the Schutztruppen.

I am NOT.  More wimmens like dese here & I gots to buys 'em...

How many times does I hasta hammer the mat to tap out??

I warned him a while back, didn't I, didn't I?

I WILL get more, the rest of the askaris, and another command pack too.
But that's IT!!  A man's gotta now his limitations.

Besides, all my adventures are on foreboding continents with stifling climates.  Those hussarettes, uhlans & stoßtruppen would simply wilt!

He wouldn't dare come up with more colonials, would he?  Nah, he'd not do that to me, or the world.  Would he?

My poor wallet... !

My wallet has Velcro on it, to help keep it shut, so it screams when I open it.
It's whimpers have already begun...

Hinterland fails to disappoint!

Always!!

Hinterland forever fails to disappoint!

Now where'd I put that credit card?
Rent n'food just gonna hafta be patient...

Much of Hinterlands products of interest - if only they were in 15 mm!!   Do your products shrink in hot water?   ;D

Seriously, would love to see some items in 15 mm.

A couple of years ago, i did a google image search for "28mm colonial sailors" and as soon as I saw the pics of Hinterland's sailors, I knew i had to have them! I put in my first order and now I'm addicted! o_o
CURSE YOU JASON MOSES!   >:(
First the sailors, Pom Pom, then the foot hussars, then the mounted hussars, then hussar lancers on giant warbirds, then hussar Maxim, then hussar artillery crew, and now schutztrupp!

It's a damn good thing I don't do WW I or I'd be broke!

WHEN WILL YOU EVER STOP?!   >:(

With any luck, not for a long, long time!

Jason is awesome to work with and his figures are SUBERB! ;D I can't recommend him highly enough!

When will the schutztrupp get their command figures? That's the only thing stopping me from ordering them today!

Keep up the awesome work! :-*
