Ogres and Trolls (well, orcs)
« on: 02 December 2008, 04:32:37 PM »
The use of non-human mercenaries (particularly those of goblin blood; trolls, ogres, etc.) was forbidden by the treaty of Volstagg in 1298. Despite this, some rulers have continued to use them in their campaigns. Let us hope our current troubles in the Kingdom aren't made worse by their appearance on the battlefield.

Hope you like.

I like the varied skin tone on the ogres.

The orcs are nice and dirty (the purple tongue stands out nicely!) did you dip them?

More! More!

Nice!

What game uses basing such as that?

Might be the way to go with my ton of warhammer models, that never get any use!

The Campaign for the Kingdom has been fought on the tabletop using "Flower of Chivalry" by Canadian Wargame Research Group. The original rules use units made of six bases. I use one base (each is sort of a diorama in itself) and use a card that players mark off hits using a dry erase pen. I love these rules because of the unique "battlelust" system. If you spend too much time charging your troops get tired. If you stand around they lose morale. Timing and set become everything.

There's a new game tonight. Will anyone dare use Ogres?

Thanks for the rule-tip.

I'll look into it. Perhaps one could just make "small" movement trays for the warhammer models and keep their original bases. Anything else would be quite a work!
