Does this help? 3 Footsore Miniatures Auxies (all Jeff's work) alongside the same Mack truck, together with a Foden steam lorry. Both are officially Matchbox, rather than Lledo, but I'm pretty sure they're the same model.

There's also a very nice Crossley Tender that's a perfect size for 28mm figures as well and easily picked up on EBay.

I'm thinking the others (like the various other police vehicles I've accumulated) may be slightly small for 28mm figures, being closer to 1/76 scale, but I'm not so worried about this as some - I'm also tempted to do some CofC games in 20mm for Operation Sealion, so they'll probably see some duty there as well!

Cheers Simon, very nice. Here are some more photos to try and help you out Fram. I've put the larger truck that you were interested in next to a Naval Officer from Copplestone a Zulu war figure from Foundry, and a Sudan figure from Perrys. Hope this helps.

Beautifully done! I think they look great with the figures. :-*

Yes, works very well with those smaller Perry figures!

Might work for me, might not.

@ sjwalker51: I already have Matchbox Crossleys in my weathering/repainting queue. What I was trying to figure out was a stand-in for an Opel Blitz or similar (there are lots of nice, properly-scaled Opel Blitz models, but they are stupidly expensive!).

There are some cheap 1/48 scale Opel Blitzes available, if that scale floats your boat?

Here are some photos of some Police Crossleys, these have been resprayed black then blue, then transfers applied. And then drybrushed and weathered with a lighter blue and finally straight white. They have then been subject to a couple of coats of my favourite matt varnish and based. Im pleased with how they have turned out.

Couple of photos of an improvised armoured truck. My cack handed attempt at modelling is suitably covered by the amateurish look of these types of vehicles lol. I've glued a bit of plastic tube to one side so that flags of various factions can be flown and the anti grenade mesh is removable.

Nice work all round, Jeff.

I am going to have to half an eye open for those vehicles in the first post as I have not seen them before.

I've done another three vehicles, they'll be used along with the Black and Tans in my other thread. There's a light and medium tank and an armoured car. Nice simple paint job consisting of a black undercoat, then they were sprayed green and washed in dark tone. They were then drybrushed with a lighter green, finally headlights and tools, tracks and tyres were all painted.
Finally based to match the rest of the force.
