Painting Terrain & buildings
« on: January 27, 2016, 10:28:24 AM »
Does anyone have any links to painting terrain and buildings? I have loads of stuff on painting figures and I'm getting better at it all the time. I just feel that my painting of buildings could be a lot better.

What kind of buildings? It's a bit of a broad category. Painting a crumbling medieval tower is a bit different from painting a slick high tech Sci-fi building ;)

Well one I'm interested in at the moment is painting realistic log cabins and palisades for French and Indian war.

Here's a quick link to my FIW Post from a month or so ago ...

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=85719.0

The base colour for the logs was Vallejo "US olive drab" and the mortar infill was a mix of Vallejo "Dark Sand" and VMC "Khaki" and the whole being lightly dry brushed with Vallejo "silver grey". The timber roofs were stained with a sepia wash and lightly dry brushed with silver grey.

Hope this helps.
