Dunkirk to Darkness - Untodt Lieferungs System - Z-2's
« on: 09 December 2008, 08:12:50 PM »
I wanted to use Zombies in London and then thought, well why not deliver them by rocket bomb?
So I set about searching for suitble toys to convert...
 :D :D

These old Cap Bombs were found on Ebay and shipped to me from the U.S.
They are made from soft polypropylene plastic that is easy to carve.

After cutting them to look as thought they had crash landed they were stuck to card bases using UPVA glue, an open hatch was cut in the body of the rocket.

Then it was a case of texturing the bases to suggest an urban site and a quick paint job, and hey presto they were ready to land!

Hope you like them. I'll be posting the game report seperately.

As the vulture flutters down,
The snake sheds it\'s dove,
Willem\'s cutting off his fingers,
So they\'ll fit into the glove.... http://captaingeneral.co.uk

Man, I loved those things as a kid. They don´t make them any more, do they? Pretty nifty conversion you made up. The road bases are rather nice.

I searched high and low for them eventually found a U.S. supplier on ebay, but yes they are pretty old toys.

I just checked,

These are the same ones I bought :D

Well, they still sold similar ones here in Germany back in the mid-to-late 1980s. But I haven´t seen them since then.

Odd, they remind me more of the bombs used in Halflife 2. Guess I console game too much  lol

Oh yeah, the missiles containing head-crabs. I had forgotten about those. Thought the idea reminded me of something. Same thing really, as head-crabs are crawling zombie starter-kits after all.

Yes, I love the little fellows....just wished someone made those in 20mm (or 28mm) for the occasional head swap. (yes, I know they are dead easy to make with some GS but I failed miserably at my attempts)

Now that's a cool idea!

Well, they still sold similar ones here in Germany back in the mid-to-late 1980s. But I haven´t seen them since then.

Sometimes they sell them on markets with other cheap Chinese trash! At least in our little village, where we have a this kind of annual market (although it's three times a year...). My eight-year old son bought one the last time.
As far as I know, you might get them at the toy department of "Drogerie Müller" as well. But I am not quite sure if you've got such a store in Münster.
TANK POLO? God, how our gardener hated that game!
