The Threshold team had been on the road for hours. Arriving in the small village just after dawn, quickly they spread out to assess the situation.
The place was eerily quiet, with not a soul in sight. Rose puts her dogs to work to see what they can sniff-up...
But lurking behind the ramshackle barn, the God-Spawn had gotten wind of the trespassers. It had been a few hours since it finished eating the last of the townsfolk, perhaps it was time for seconds.... The daemon's plan is simple:
Fear will cause it's foes to run, go Face Up / Down or if the stars are right, Charge. As necessary, and with it's remaining Actions the G.S. will cast
Sinister Energies to deadly effect! Yes, this is a good plan.
Seizing the initiative the God-Spawn heroically dashes out to engage the foe. FEAR ME! It burbles. All the dogs, but one pass their resolve check! Rose makes use of the Threshold leader's Resolve of
'2' and passes easily. The God-Spawn is perturbed and
FUMBLES its casting roll for Sinister Energies,
inflicting its first wound upon itself! The Threshold team kicks into high-gear. Rose retreats, and the two heavily armed members of the team advance. Solid rolls with the old double barrelled shotgun and the .45 automatic inflict two more wounds on the over confident God-Spawn.
It was over in the blink of an eye. Chalk-up win number 5 and a Promotion for this team.
The dice really favoured Threshold this game. It could have been much worse. The G.S. had rolled
Touch of Death as well as
Sinister Energies x2. In fact, we replayed this right away after doing the post-game, just for kicks. The result couldn't have been more different. A total wipe for Threshold, the God-Spawn taking only 1 wound. Frightening.
Both games were excellent fun. Here's a bird's eye view of the table. Finished painting some new bits this week. Five of the Perry's N. American buildings and the Plasticville Hobo Jungle. Couldn't resist playing with them. Will post some close-ups when I get a chance to take some proper photos.
