American Uncivil Wargame
« on: 15 February 2016, 06:15:27 PM »
Here are some pictures you may like of a game me and my friend had using American Uncivil War Rules.

Basically... A Southern town rose up against it's Federal rulers and made an attempt to retake it. A small group of Confederate troops in the area joined the fight. A steamer arrived to drop off supplies, so the plan was also to include the retaking of the ship as well and capture the Captain.

The steamer arrives

Some wealthy Northern passengers begin to disembark

The town Mayor poses for the camera

The Captain and his Lieutenant discuss a large crowd gathering in the street

The alarm goes out and all passengers and crew are called back onboard and prepare for the approaching hostile towns folk.

Confederate troops also make their way to attack

Federal troops take up firing positions on deck

The angry woman on the jetty throws the potty from underneath the bed. I would not want to be on the receiving end of its contents

Southern troops have finally taken the jetty. Next stop, the steamer.

Passengers take cover on the top deck

The Lieutenant prepares the survivors for a boarding

Captain Hardimann stands on top deck whilst things start to look grim below

It's all over. Captain Hardimann is finally forced to surrender the steamer back to its previous owners

It was a fantastic game and bags of fun. I can't wait for the next one.

Cheers Guys.

Looks like a fun game.  Well done on the top notch painted figures and terrain.

Very nice terrain and minis you've got there. Looks like it was a great game! Is the steamer scratch built or a ready made piece?

I really like your steamer model.  I must try to build one of those.
What brand of Union figures are those aboard the steamer?  They look very nice.

Many Thanks for the great comments ;)

Now for some answers.
The Steamer was scratchbuilt originally for my Sudan project which is currently on hold. There was no point having the steamer stuck in a box, so it was recruited for some ACW games. All i had do do was make some US & CSA flags for it.

The ships Officers and sailors are from Copplestone miniatures.
Civilians onboard ship are from Ironclad Miniatures.
The US, CSA and lady throwing the potty are metal and plastic from Perry Miniatures.
My friend owns most of the townsfolk and can't remember who made them. I believe some are Dixon or Foundry?

Hope this helps
