The thing about the second generation is that they only seem a bit more human.

Yeah; some even still have a rudimentary 3rd arm and all retain that hypnotic inhuman stare.

Not at all like us, of the 4th generation, who can roam conventions and game stores, easily passing for true humans. You should see my kid though...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

I will keep the SMs AND the cultists, I do have a soft spot for Space Marines, still building a Blood Angels force as a bit of a flashback to the squad I had in the mid 90s.

I hope they do more stuff like this (I have been told they do plan to), really when it comes down to 40k I want more character style figures, something I can use in RPGs.

Speaking of which, can anyone think of any suitable figures to replace the patriarch? I don't like the "I'M STANDING ON SOMETHING ABOUT TO LEAP OFF" thing he's got going on.

Preferably fat because I love fat genestealers.

Just the two old metal ones then, but they will break your cult's bank, unless you get really lucky...

Tyranids dude! TYRANIDS! The Chaos Gods ain't got shit on the Tyranids....

Back in the day Genstealer Cults could also worship Chaos. So you could have beastmen and daemons in your force as well. Makes me wonder if the new Abberant idea came from that.

I'm not a fan of it either. I have a set of Hive Tyrant legs and Tyranid warrior legs that I may use to try and convert a standing version of the Patriarch.

Getting one box, 140 euros  :-I Not planning on keeping the SM though.

I hope Genestealer fans would be able to make back most of the cost by selling the marines (each an individual character) on ebay. I hope I will anyway. ;) Might be a bit mercenary, and depends what the actual demand will be, but still...

All that pale, unhealthy flesh! I knew it!

Looking at the sprue on Dakka, it looks like he's attached to the pipe by a couple of toes on one foot. I don't think it'll be too difficult to slice off. Straightening the pose might be a bit more difficult, but that nid carapace makes handy joints 'n' points for reposing, and I've some experience of chopping 'stealers.

Hmmm, I always joked that GW would likely bring out a new Genestealer Cult before I would finish converting mine. Never happier to be proven right!  lol And so soon as well.
It does mean I need to up my game on my conversions, though...

Lol, yeah teenagers aren't really human are they. Just have the basic resemblance of humans.

That has been my experience for the most part.

I've got my fingers crossed for that situation too, but I doubt it'll pan out that way.  As you say the marines all appear to be named characters so players won't need more than one where the cult figures are generic so players will want multiples.  Plus while marine bits are plentiful, there will be a novelty to the cult figures.  I fear the marines will go cheap and the cult figures will fetch 3/4 of whatever the final price on the box is.  Plus you can bet your sweet behind that GW won't release the cult figures in any other format until they've wrung all the sales they can get out of the overkill box.
