The Battle for Dönerdorf (Dragon Rampant)
« on: 01 March 2016, 06:30:48 AM »
I had a battle of Dragon Rampant with Dr. Zombie yesterday.

Lilliputians, Goatmen, Chaos Sheep, a bolt pistol and a druid. It all went into the mix.  :D

It was good fun. Now that I think of it I don't think we have had a game since the last BLAM. :o

I agree such an eclectic figure collection - the Ymgori! awesome. Looks like a fun game - as it should be...
I challenge you to convert these into fierce warbeasts! >:D...

Mind you I seem to recall an incredibly naff Sci-Fi film called 'Night of the Lepus' with gigantic killer rabbits! Time to crack open the Playmobil or Schleich rabbits provided you can find suitable 'action' poses. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_Lepus

Good to see the mighty ovine get the respect it deserves. lol

Really nice setup. More interesting than a flat board with maybe a hill or two to the side.

Wow models and scenary look great and it seems like it would have been a lot of fun too.

What models are you using as the Lilliputians. I really like the idea of some tiny guys (pixies or whatever) running around. Are they just 10mm models on a lareger base or something?

There's a lot to like, but I just love the big Deer. Dragon Rampant really is a winner.

In a small follow up battle featuring Bhror Lhort, a distant cousin of Khong Lhort, a tribe of evildoers had captured 10 of the local village's inhabitants and intended to serve as a stew.

The locals of course did not favour this prospect and decided to intervene.

Bhror Lhort had a giant in his employ and a fearsome one it was. He single-handedly slew a great many peasants.

Like his cousin, Bhror Lhort also relied on Man Who Are Goats, to do his dirty work.

At the time that the locals finally got to the cooking pot only 3 villagers remained... the rest had been stewed up!

A fun small game, straight out of the pages of the Dragon Rampant book. Thinking about these past two games I have hardly used any of the fantastical rules... and I guess in most cases it isn't necessary. Everything does taste a bit of chicken, but it is all good for a lazy guy like me.

We did field a Wizard this time though. And he even managed to fire a POWER BOLT... but well - I really like the 'engine' of this game and will probably keep playing it indefinitely. The narrative is more important anyway.  :D

That is a SPLENDID LOOKING game...I love the tree in the first photo. AND the Guys in Grass Skirts manning the cook pot are TERRIFIC. WONDERFUL STUFF!
