Fantastic! I'm going to steal the two-headed cows idea, to cool not to use. Top marks on such an inspired project!

Jefferson Memorial
« Reply #136 on: February 25, 2009, 10:04:08 PM »
Hey guys, finally violated my resolution not to build anything big for the project, and built a game scale, condensed and simplefied Jefferson Memorial out of XPS styrofoam and various sorts of cardboard.

Some painted views with figures for scale:

Looking into the rotunda; the cupola is removable to allow access to the interior which will be filled with laboratory equipment.

To complement the piece, I´m going to build some square feet of tubes and chemical-plant-looking thingbits, plus metal gangways - I´m thinking of using some platformer sets for those to save time, but I´m also considering doing some cardboard cutout plans.

Heh, I just cleared out the Jefferson Memorial last night  :D

Looks bloody good. Are you going to add a statue of jefferson inside a giant tube of murky water in the centre?
So many projects..... so little time.......

Indeed I plan to do so! I´m currently looking for 70mm figures that would fit the bill. Basically, any 18th-century civilian in a similar pose would do, since you won´t be noticing any difference at that scale and once the figure is suitably corroded and encased in the purifier central core.

Since this thread moved away from Chris's original post about his Fallout project I have split the remainder into another topic here:

Gee! Almost two years since my last post in that thread - that must be a new low, even for me.

Anyway, the recent flurry of Fallout-focused frolics on this forum prompted me to finally paint some more minis I got over the last year to use for the project.

Enclave Reinforcements (Scotia Grendel "Kryomek Nexus SWAT", with thanks to user Comsquare):

A supermutant (Hasslefree "Jotun"):

I really like the Jotun, and will hopefully get the other one as well (and may splurge on the weapons/arms pack too, since I don't really like the tentacle arm it comes with). Also got one of the other Druusch Cyberzombies which will make another "combat mutant", but I have to dig it out first. :D
