Alien predator- the arctic hunt
« on: March 12, 2016, 06:54:57 PM »

This is another one of my  small-box dioramas.

We watch predators on a hunting trip on an icy planet.

Animal miniature is from Reaper: Moor hound, REA-65113.
Predator miniatures are from Copplestone, FW-32.

That is a great diorama.  I'm especially interested in how you did your snow.  It actually looks natural an realistic. How did you do it?

Glad you like it!
It's just simple baby powder. Don't know the correct term in english. Keeps babies backfront dry and makes up for a nice snow  lol

Don't worry, that was it. :)

Is the baby powder glued down with adhesive or simply sprinkled onto the surface?  I love the effect, but it is too delicate for bases.

I use a standard PVA-glue (White glue) and mix it with water. It has to be somewhat liquid, so that you can apply it with an old brush. But not to thin, so it won't flow into every crack of the surface. Afterwards it is sprinkled with the powder. Let it dry and blow off any excess powder. Maybe  the powder could be fixed with a spray varnish after glueing it, but i haven't tried that yet.

I assume the display case is from Ferrero Rocher or something similar?
