Last stand at Mao Li
« on: December 21, 2008, 07:44:34 PM »
Hi All
few will remember the Mao Li campaign I run some time ago ,it was a mix of 45 Adventure and TaT Games .
The campaingn never have a end game but now after all the time we manage to play the last Game .
the old Reports
for all interesting in the other Mao li game repords look here
Battle at Mao Li  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=3403.0

night attack at Mao Li part 0ne  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=3571.0

night attack at Mao Li part two  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=3573.0

Second Battle at Mao Li http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=3658.0

Rebel´s near Mao Li  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=4122.0

Ambush alley near Mao Li  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=4741.0

so now the final battle
We remember the british agents and the chinese rebles capture the convoy of the warlords .
With the uniforms and truks they sneak in the town of Mao Li to attack the guards .
In the morning the British troops arrive and the battle begin.

We have 3 players per side
Warlord side are
The fearsome Hei´ No  and his Bodyguards   played by Heino
General  Wu and his troopers                     played by Driscoles
Joris Belzin and his withe russians               played by Frank Bauer and Michele
The british side are
Chinese rebels                                         played by judge
British Agents                                          played by Green knight
British troopers                                         played by NurgelHH

all can get the Main victory points but all also have there secret victory points .
mostly aganst there mate´s .
The game lays for 8 turns and everyturn will be a event card .

most of the troopers are randum placed on the table
http://leadadventureforum.com/gallery/2/6_21_12_08_4_02_04_1.JPG
lucky for the withe russian and german mercenaries to be placed at ther secret victory position

Turn 1 - 3
the troops move into position

Hei No stard his cars to escape from the battlefield and the germans greb the jade buddah

Turn 4 -5
The British Armured car enter the tabel but they dident make a hit on Hei No´s cars

The withe russians shoot at the British agents as they try to enter the temple .The Fanatics attack also

Hei`No diden´t care about his own troopers

the Troops of Wu defend the road

then the british players get a plane for attack

but one of the bombs are very close to the own troops

Turn 6
The Germans get out of the temple using the monk as a shild

The withe russians also do there best to win the game

Franks Face after that hartless acktion

Hei No  make his way to the tabel edge

but he diden´t thnk about Mao chee chung

he throw a granade and ...

Turn 7
things get harder now because ,Björn has a evil plan

he get realy nasty !!!

These round Heino was the worsest player because he let his Fanatics slaughter the monks. We can´t show that in color !!!!!!!

Hei No himself  dident die in the car explsion and make his run behinde his bodyguards

Turn 8

The Fanatics attack more monks and the agents fire them down

the brits get a new plane attack

and......
hit Hei No !!!!

the chinese Warlords side win the Game because they have more of the buildings then the British side .
the Player who win the game was the Withe Russian because they get the Jade Buddha and the store house .
Also is to note that Hei No get killed and Wu will be the new ruler .
Some people says that they see Hack Man Zu carry Hei No out of the burning car but that is only a rumor......... ;)

After a Game with 6 players I must say that TaT is ideal for big Games as long as nobody get more then 5 troop cards .
The new vehicle rules are very good and also the rules for Flags and trumpets .

last ting sorry for the small pictures but I diden´t have enugh space in my member gallery  :'(

Thanks to all players .
Grimm

Good lord! Apparently he was so excited by the game that he spontaneously grew a huge spiky afro! lol

Great report. Looks like you had a ton (metric or imperial, delete as applicable) of fun!

Outstanding. What everyone else said + Schäferhund!*

What's this about new vehicle rules? Does one need the Spanish book to get these?

*Extra points for including it in the report.

They are in the LoM Supplement.
You can still use the old vehicle rules.
The new rules are probably better suitable for straight historical gaming.

Thanks Guys it means a lot to me when you like my report .

@Plynkes
the main thing is that they have convert the movement rules so you diden´t have to roll for movement for every singel car .
You now have speed levels.
Also they have include that better tanks are immune to small arms.
so a SMG can´t kill a pre 1930 tank or a big ww1 tank .
After that they have some pre generated cars and tanks ,better Airlane Rules and they clear a few of the unclear Rules from the main book.
Then they are a lot of SCW stuff but I think it can easy convent to other Armys .

The hole book is more a mag then a book I mean from the pages inside but it is more then worth to buy it and it is    popular-priced then other Rule-mags I have see
(maby the BoB or Darkest Africa rule sets )

hope that help you
