Small ACW Scene
« on: March 21, 2016, 06:55:01 AM »
I came across this piece, which I had made in the mid nineties. I pulled it out to rework the terrain as it sucks compared to what I am able to do today. My skills at terrain have improved markedly since then. At least I hope so!

All the figures are 54mm metal kits. Several different figure makers and more than a few conversions are involved.
The flag is handmade from metal foil.
Everything, including the figure painting, was done by my own personal self. One of the few times that I actually did the painting myself.

When I finish tarting it up, I'll post the results for comparision

Nice nonetheless (and I can see the provenance of your current pieces).

What unit is the flag for? To my basic understanding of the war it doesn't look typical.

War is becoming much more interesting when one realise such details and can implement them on the table.

I was unaware of bishop Polk existence until your post :)
He is last bishop to die on the battlefield leading the large unit of troops (and he died of cannonball to boot!!) Great story and nice miniatures.

Thanks AWu. That's what it's all about. Pope died in the arms of a man that he had baptized just hours before he was killed.
I'm glad that you found it worthwhile.
