Dwarf Blood Totem
« on: 29 March 2016, 10:55:23 AM »
Back in the day, Chronopia had this concept of tribal dwarfs with totem animals/monsters. I guess the idea was that each clan would have their own, but I think only two were actually produced before Target went belly-up.

This is the Dark-Tusk Blood Totem, which I think is the better one anyway. I got one of the very last ones from Prince August, but unfortunately he was pretty badly affected by the dreaded lead rot.

About a year back I set to see if it could be saved... I'll write a separate article about the rot operation, but here's the big dude with his little friend.

I love seeing pieces that I had missed somehow. The Beasty & his appreciably smaller associate are BEAUTIFULLY painted & based creations. VERY WELL DONE!

As far as I know, the only other blood totem produced was the Horn Skull one:

Produced by the guys who took the licence over when Target went belly up.

I like them both.

It is great to see these miniatures still popping up in threads.

I love the range and setting.

The second Totem the Horned one's one was released by Excelsior Entertainment when they took over the game. There is also a different head variant for it too.

Forge of Ice do a proxy Vulture Totem.

Thanks guys.

The other one that I recall had a giant crossbow mounted on top and a small crew riding it.

Or maybe it was just art and never released as a figure. Or maybe it wasn't a totem. Can't quite recall, it's been almost 20 years (most if my figures have 1998 on the slotta tab).

The one with crossbow on its back was the Horned one's War Torkha with two crew for the bolt thrower and two warriors which hung onto the sides.Very nice piece of concept art by Adrian Smith. It was never released though, which is a shame.
