Just wondered what people thought of the rules that have been published.

I am a fan of Muskets and Tomahawks. :)
I am also a fan of Sharp Practice, but have never played the F&IW variant, but imagine it plays just as well.

Buckskins and Rangers by Battlefield Game Designs has been a great game that I have enjoyed at several HMGS-East conventions.

If you'd like to read a host of battle reports using my own Song of Drums and Tomahawks rules, check out the Game Report page of our website:
http://www.firstcommandwargames.com/published-rules/song-of-drums-and-tomahawks/

Feel free to ask any questions about them. It is a man-to-man skirmish, with players controlling about 7-12 figs each.

If you want to play "small-unit" as opposed to man-to-man, I recommend This Very Ground by Iron Ivan Games. This is what I like abut the rules: http://cluckamok.blogspot.com/2013/03/got-my-studio-tomahawk-on-part-two.html

Bests,
Chris

P.S. Song of Drums and Tomahawks is great man-to-man stuff.

A second vote for Muskets & Tomahawks. Very nice atmospheric system. The scenarios and secondary objectives really make the game fun.

3rd vote for Muskets & Tomahawk although have just ordered the new Sharpe Practice 2. Originally played F&I using Sharpe Practice 1 before M&T came out.

Both good systems although SP1 needed lots of prep to play e.g all the different cards. SP2 looks much easier.

I play Songs of Drums and Tomahawks a lot.  But I ordered Sharp Practice 2 for "large skirmishes".  Of course that meant more figures, more scenery, etc...

Another vote for M & T, but considering picking up Sharpe Practice 2 for AWI
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

I lie Songs of Drums and Tomahawks- its only small numbers of figures, not big skirmishes, (about 8-15 figures)  but it is very easy to learn and fun to play. M+T is kind of middle-sized skirmishes to large skirmishes with about 25-40 figures and the new Sharp Practice looks like it will be about 40-50 figures aside.

Song of Drums and Tomahawks is a terrific set of rules for 18th century North America.  Very easy to pick up.

You could try these -

Only £4.00, and we've had many a good game with them from F&IW to 1880s Sudan.
