ACW Easy to learn Rules

Can someone point me a easy to learn and play set of ACW rules for the following armies composition?

Infantry - 3 or 4 regiments per side (16 to 24 figure regiment)
Cavalry - 1 or 2 regiments per side (8 to 12 figure regiment)
Artillery - 2 or 3 field guns per side.

Hi,I'll kick this off by recommending Wargaming an Introduction and One Hour Wargames both by Neil Thomas,each has a set of rules for Acw games that are different to each other but would suit the requirements set out in your post,I'm sure if you google those book titles plenty of reviews will appear to aid your choice and help form an opinion

The only problem with the OHW is that he has taken out the HtH Combat rules, but you could filch them from the Railroad era rules.  I don't know why he left charges out of those rules, since they certainly happened!

Longstreet - excellent set of rules.
You don't say how big your units are.
If you are playing the campaign in the Longstreet book you start with 3 units of 10 stands each of infantry (who are Eager Recruits at the start of the war), 1 unit of 8 stands of cavalry and 1 unit of 2 stands of 6pdr guns.

Of course if you are playing a historical battle or other scenario you can make your units whatever size you please.

I'd go with the Perry Miniatures Battle in a Box set which includes exactly the forces you're looking for, and the Firepower rulesset which is VERY easy to learn:

I downloaded Longstreet and i will take a look.
The perry rules are those included on the plastic boxes?

Paul, glad i´m not the only one with this idea.
I´m going to opt for 20mm because i already have the miniatures in metal.
However i´m also painting some in 28mm for squirmish games using the Ganesha rules 61-65.

Rui: I am torn between doing them in 28mm and enjoying the painting etc (and I already have scenery in that scale...) or 15mm and then being able to do 'big battles'.

I use 20mm for my ACW stuff - simply because I've had the figures since the late 60s. They have been supplemented with some metals for Zouaves and the like. I use a 40mm base width for Longstreet and that seems to work well.

A couple of ideas come to mind...Regimental Fire and Fury and Gettysburg Soldiers.  I think the latter is simpler than the former, and both meet your unit size requirements for the most part.

Regimental fire and fury did come to mind but i´ve never played before.
Seem very elaborate though but i may be wrong.

Fire and Fury was my local club's "go to" set years ago and once you've played a few times you can rattle thru the games using just the papacy sheet. 

The down side is that the units are quite big - and the games equally so. You'll need a lot of figures and bases to get these gamed.

I like Neil Thomas's rules but haven't played these sets so can't comment. His stuff usually works and if you're not 100% they "tweak" very easily.

My own preference is for Mr Lincoln's War. The unit size is pretty close to what you had in mind and they are supposed to be a very accurate representation.
