Heathen. I shall promptly alert the Swedish Royal Academy of the latest oeuvre of Mr Plynkes. I am sure he'll be the next laureate of the Noble price in literature.

"Stop staring out of the window at the back there, Bartella, and pay attention!"

<Throws piece of chalk at Scurvy>

A piece of software called "Comic Life" that was all the rage here on the LAF a few months ago. http://plasq.com/comiclife-win
I may be wrong, but I thought when I got it you only had to pay for the deluxe version. That seems to have changed. Maybe I dreamt it.

Comic Life is almost embarrassingly easy to use. Seems to be designed for idiots to operate, which is just as well. It's all drag-and-drop. It did all the hard work, not me.

The paint program I used to make the crappy special effects (blood, blur, etc.) is just some old thing that came bundled with a PC I bought about 10 years ago. It's called Corel Photo Paint and looks snazzy (it has millions of functions that I have no idea how to work), but as it's so old I'll bet just about every other available similar thing is better, possibly with the exception of MS Paint.

Excellent report and great idea for a game. I trust you will work your way all through the book(and film) to include an encounter with a German cruiser!

I love the idea of poo markers. I may have to steal that idea for a dinosaur game ...

Bullshott, I'm afraid I can't run to a 28mm cruiser, but the sequel is in hand, and it does involve one or two of my big boats. It meshes together this and the storyline from one of my earlier games. All outlandish, but inspired by real incidents as well as the book and film.

Let's get this straight...you throw poo over your shoulder (possibly though not intentionally hitting your opponent ) prior to starting the game?

I'm In!

Oh, and a fabulous report. As usual.

So Damn good!  It was reports like this from across this forum that inspired me to break out of fantasy gaming and try new things last year (i.e. ancients, Old West, etc...)

Thanks for the entertainment,
JET

Bravo!  I really enjoyed your stories and reports on your site as well.  This just adds to the excellent volume of work.  Like others, I really like the "just poo" markers.  Ha ha ha!  Capital idea.  I can't wait for the next round of fun to begin.

Also, I really like your dhow.  Very nicely done!
