Thanks, these talents are really cool.
I will give Flashman Erudite Wit and Enthusiasm.

For John Brown I will rename terryfying in "kilt" or "highland fury"

Since I like to set the list in the 1890s to fit into IHMN I have to bend
history a bit.
John Brown is still alive, Disraeli still Prime Minister and Buller is
just a colnel. But I wanted to include Buller with the military rank he had
by the time he got the VC and ADC. I donīt know wich rank Flashman had by this time
but I think it will work good like that.
Bend the history like that gives a little more freedom in writing the backstory.

Col. Buller is already on my painting table. I hope I can finish him this week.
I really hope that I can make a test game next week vs the french legion.

cheers

I finished the list so far but still have to find a name.
The characters are now all on my painting table ready for some colors.
I will post them together with the finished backstory in another topic.

cheers

As another Flashman fan I must admit if I were designing him (which may come eventually) I'd design him from a different angle. As an utter coward, I doubt he'd be much for fighting in an actual fight. I'd remove all his combat stats (+4 FV etc) and instead up his pluck to +2, erudite wit and then have the "meticulous planning" attribute as well as at times things just can't help but go his way. If you were feeling really brave you'd add what the Persians in the steppe gave him so that if you took a particular option he'd immediately become fanatic and fearless.  :o

Without making your list too complicated how about some transport/horses?

Being guards to the Queen herself, it would be expected that the Officers, Life Guards and Sikh Warriors would have access to Cavalry horses and possibly Cody Steam Horses (being released by one of the regulars to this forum). Civilians could take riding horses.

The Queen could take to the road in either her own horse-drawn carriage or upgrade to an armoured Steam Carriage (aka IHMN basic rulebook) which would make sense as I understand she holds the record as a monarch for the most assassination attempts!

Now this would make for a very colourful and effective party...especially if the Sikhs could take lances...

@ N.C.S.E.: But he is a good swordsman and physically strong person.
Besides I really don`t like pluck 2+ caracters.
I tested the meticulous planing
talent and in my opinion it is far to cheap and to powerful.
(and it makes no sense, why should it be possible for me to move enemy troops)
If clever used you can disable machine gun crews an entire game.
Just think abaut a character with pluck 2+, erudite wit, meticulous planning, fanatic and fearless.
Even with low fighting and shooting stats that is some nasty opponent and in my opinion dont fit in
his background.

@ Tehet: I already thought about some transportation but I wanted at first finished stats.
I think I will give the Queens Live Quard and Sikh Guard the option to be mounted on a cavalry horse or steam horse
and possibility to get cavalry talent. Lances for the Sikh are a nice idea, "Queens Own Sikh Lancers" :D
A armoured steam carriage for the Queen and her staff would be nice too.
I will ad the options to the company when posting it into a new topic for painting progress.

cheers

Flashman as a general by 1890 does fit with the books (he was a lieutenant in the Mutiny).  And, although a coward, there are times he does have to stick and fight (because observed, or simply because blubbering and surrendering won't save his life !!).

Also one is not so willing to break down and blubber if one is in front of a company of witnesses including her royal highness. Might get one's arse kicked by John Brown!

Thats right but it was my decision to bring him in as a General. I just wanted one high ranked officer in
the company. Hope I donīt cross with all the Flashman fans here.

Right. I think I have to include some line of sight rule. If he isīnt within lie of sight to her Majesty then he may
leave the battlefield. Something like that. I have to test the rule first, maybe he donīt
quit much enough that a rule like that makes sense.

There is also more than one incident in the books where he "borrows" someone else's horse to make a hasty get-away (often with some folderol about "going to get help").
